Early riser: Nadine Coyle performed her new song on ITV's Daybreak this morning in an attempt to boost her flagging record sales

She's spent the last week heavily promoting her debut single as she attempts to launch a career as a solo artist.

But despite numerous live appearances and several interviews to promote Insatiable, the title track of her upcoming debut album, she has only managed to sell 117 hard copies since it was released on Monday.

And with digital downloads only reaching 2,439 so, Nadine has only managed to reach number 35 in the midweek charts.

In comparison, her former Girls Aloud colleague Cheryl Cole sold 157,000 copies during the first week of release.

The X Factor judge has also sold 566 hard copies of her new song Promise This and an impressive 27,643 digital downloads in her second week of sales, boosted by her performance on the X Factor last weekend.

But the singer, 27, was believed to have mimed her performance and in a thinly-veiled dig at her former bandmate, Nadine, also 27, said she wouldn't want to perform on the show to promote the single as it would compromise her vocals.

Heavy promotion: Nadine Coyle performed her new single at London club Koko this week but has failed to make an impact on the chart so far

Nadine, who is engaged to American Football star Jason Bell, 32, said: 'I only want to do live shows. What happens with TV shows is you can’t always do things live. You can’t really get the full effect and with Insatiable being such a big song and because I’m just starting off I want it to be all about doing stuff live.

‘I would rather go back to when I started doing music in Ireland and it was all live.

I mean you just don’t mime. So I’m going back to my roots to do that as nerve racking as it is, because you’re worrying about a 12-piece band and you have that "ahh anything can happen, it’s live" feeling, you know?’

Buy my song! Nadine looked upbeat and positive as she left Koko after appearing on The Album Chart Show

Nadine has thrown herself onto the promotional trail this week appearing on TV shows and doing magazine interviews, doing everything she possible to plug the new song, which has been released exclusively through Tesco.

She will also release her debut album through the supermarket chain next Monday.
This morning she appeared on ITV breakfast show Daybreak where she chatted to hosts Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley and performed her song.

She appeared at north London nightclub Koko on Monday night to record a performance for Channel 4's The Album Chart Show.

Bewitching: Nadine performed at nightclub G-A-Y on Halloween

She also sang at G-A-Y on Sunday night and showcased a couple of other songs from the album as well as some Girls Aloud favourites.

Nadine was also a guest on The Paul O'Grady Show last Friday and also conducted several interviews including one with showbiz magazine Heat and has taken to her Twitter page to encourage fans to buy the song.

Sadly for the irish-born star, her heavy self-promotion has appeared to be all in vain so far, but she will be hoping that sales pick up and improve her chart position in time for Sunday's official chart countdown.
